Por María Eugenia Guidara |

Whatsapp business

It is no longer news that WhatsApp has become the leading communication channel for people. But it is not only in the personal field that Whatsapp has been successful. Nowadays, even local businesses, new ventures, and some big companies are using this tool to exchange messages with their customers for free.

This way of communication extended so much that in September 2017; the messaging service announced its new app: Whatsapp for Business. At that time, they were just running the first tests on the tool that is now available for Android in the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Brazil and the United States. In the coming weeks, it will also reach iOS and other countries. Even the airline KLM Royal Dutch posted a video that shows what kind of use WhatsApp Business offers.

However, WhatsApp Marketing has been used globally for some time. It started being used as a direct communication channel between companies and their customers, but over the years it has evolved … that’s why we’re going to show you how to take advantage of the latest WhatsApp updates to capture potential customers (“Leads”) without waiting for the arrival of WhatsApp Business …

BRIEF GUIDE: How we should take advantage of WhatsApp to Gain Potential Customers without waiting for the arrival of WhatsApp for Business

#1: Paid Ads on Facebook through a button linked to WhatsApp

As of today, you already have the possibility of gaining “leads” using Whatsapp.

It is a Facebook launch that allows linking the two platforms. How does it work? A button is placed on Facebook ads so that people can call or send messages to your brand through WhatsApp. Let’s see an example…

This format is very similar to the “click on Messenger” Ad system (send a message through Facebook Messenger), but you won’t find it on Facebook’s help center or on the platform’s advertising objectives. It’s actually part of a series of Facebook tricks and secrets that only some of us know.

Let’s do it step by step!

STEP 1: Create a WhatsApp link with a personalized message (this is the link that we will later place in the Facebook Ad). To create it, just complete the form:

STEP 2: Go to the Ad Manager and click on the “Create Ad” button. Once you are there, you must select the “Traffic” target. In there you will complete the data that the system asks for (as you always do if you use Facebook Ads).

It is essential that you change the location of your ads. We do not know precisely how many people have WhatsApp Web to know if they can view your Ad from the computer, so it is better for you to select the “Mobile only” option.

You can complete the rest of the alternatives as you like (budget, calendar, and delivery). Then, you will choose the format of your Ad and you can start to design it.

STEP 3: Now we are reaching the key moment of this topic: where it says “URL OF THE WEBSITE” you are going to place the link that you have created for Whatsapp.

You add the title and the text, and that’s it! Now you have your Ad so your customers can communicate with your brand through WhatsApp, and you can expand your chances of gaining leads.

#2: Organic Strategy: Add the WhatsApp link to your posts

This second option is pretty simple and does not cost you money. It’s about sharing that same WhatsApp link in the posts you make in your social profiles. To make this task much easier and faster, you can use Postcron. You just have to add the accounts in which you want to share the Whatsapp link (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and Pinterest) and press the “post now” button.

In this image, you can see how you can easily add all your social networks accounts.

We hope that this guide will help you to start attracting more potential customers through WhatsApp. If you have already used any of these techniques, tell us in the comments what outcome you have had using some of these methods.   🙂
