Sorry for saying but neither are zombies or witches, who are now becoming quite fashionable again.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s this all about? It&#8217;s that honestly I don\u2019t get why <strong> so many people are still insisting on buying and\u00a0selling &#8220;fans&#8221; or &#8220;likes&#8221;.<\/strong> I&#8217;d like to think it&#8217;s the ingenuity of that entrepreneurial\u00a0rookie that <em>craves to see his\/her page grow so badly, that they look for anyway to get more likes on Facebook and then do anything to get them<\/em>. <strong>Obviously, they forget that ghosts and zombies and witches, don&#8217;t do any of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1- <strong>They don&#8217;t\u00a0generate engagement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have you ever heard of a <strong>ghost who can &#8220;like&#8221; or comment on a post<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-2.jpg\" alt=\"como tener mas likes en facebook 2\" width=\"435\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><\/center>2- <strong>They don&#8217;t answer questions nor participate in raffles or contests<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(I&#8217;ve never seen a winning selfie of a ghost, but &#8230; who says it couldn&#8217;t happen?). \u00a0Even less can they be advocates of a brand or <strong>identify with the voice of an organization or company. \u00a0Neither can they use #hashtags<\/strong> to participate in a conversations , etc., etc., etc&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>What we&#8217;re sayin is: \u00a0<strong>you get NOTHING IN RETURN<\/strong>, there&#8217;s no communication, there&#8217;s nothing real behind a \u201cpack&#8221; of 10,000 fake fans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You guys might say:<\/strong><em>\u00a0&#8220;Oh, I know that, but it\u2019s so hard to get your\u00a0Facebook\u00a0to grow these days, it&#8217;s so hard to get fans and get your posts to have &#8220;likes&#8221;, comments, and shares. Buying fans is just a push to get the page going and later we&#8217;ll work on keeping the momentum going!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>And I&#8217;d respond:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-3.jpg\" alt=\"tener mas likes en facebook 3\" width=\"305\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/center><strong>I know guys, it\u2019s a little hard right now<\/strong>, and I think we&#8217;ve been a little <strong>spoiled by Facebook and we&#8217;ve been living the fake &#8220;American Dream\u201d<\/strong> for a few years. But, <strong>like it or not, whether we agree or not, if it seems fair or not, today&#8217;s reality<\/strong> requires that we be super willing to give <strong>LOTS OF DEDICATION to our communities<\/strong> if we want them to grow. I&#8217;d love to say otherwise, but nope. <strong>There are no magic formulas for getting more likes on Facebook.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nowadays,<strong> the 3 key elements<\/strong> to get more likes on Facebook are:<\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; <strong>Content<\/strong> (and everything related to it)<br \/>\n2 &#8211; Knowing your <strong>fans<\/strong> (who they are, what moves them, what times they&#8217;re connected, how they like being talked to, etc.)<br \/>\n3 &#8211; Understanding the<strong> nature of this social media channel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8230; <strong>how can you get more likes on Facebook<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>Well , it&#8217;d be easier to just give you the <strong>typical &#8220;practical&#8221; advice<\/strong> that you might find on other blogs like &#8220;share images, make sure your posts are short, upload content when your fans are online, be consistent and publish at least 2 times per day, use hashtags, use an authentic voice, make your brand more human, do promotions, &#8221; etc., etc., etc. .<\/p>\n<p><strong>But do you really know WHICH\u00a0<\/strong>images your fans or potential fans actually like? <strong>Do you know what to say, how to talk to them, or even what they really want<\/strong>? Do you understand what kind of relationship you need to build with your fans on this platform or <strong>how to get them to help you get more fans<\/strong>? Do you know what people are looking for on Facebook and what you need to do in order to get in touch with their needs, satisfy them, and then <strong>find the opportunity to connect deeply with them, and obviously take advantage?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cUmmmm, noo? &#8230;. &#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-4.jpg\" alt=\"tener mas likes en facebook 4\" width=\"312\" height=\"310\" \/><\/a><\/center><strong>Okay, I&#8217;ve actually had that face before.<\/strong> So, before loading you up with those practical tips that I mentioned above, (and it&#8217;s worth clarifying that they&#8217;re completely valid and will be developed thoroughly), I&#8217;d like to <strong>start with two of the three key issues<\/strong> that I said before (content, fans, and nature of the channel).<\/p>\n<h2>Understand the nature of Facebook to get more likes on Facebook<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to <strong>work seriously on building up your community<\/strong>, it&#8217;s \u00a0essential that you understand this part.<\/p>\n<p>First,\u00a0<strong>Why do people use Facebook?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whether they be teenagers, people in their 30s, 40s, or even older; <strong>everyone is looking to connect with friends and loved ones<\/strong>. Why? Because Facebook is a space for communicating, where <strong>we can express ourselves with confidence, where we bring together our &#8220;friends&#8221;, and let them see our private lives<\/strong>. It&#8217;s a place where we can say and share a<strong> certain intimacy and depth<\/strong> of our feelings, thoughts, tastes, values , etc. . . .<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/technology\/archive\/2013\/04\/why-do-people-use-facebook\/274721\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chart<\/a>\u00a0explains it quite well:<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/tener-mas-likes-en-facebook-5.jpg\" alt=\"tener mas likes en facebook 5\" width=\"524\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><\/center>Research by <strong>Pew Search Center<\/strong>\u00a0also agrees and indicates that of the total sample for this study:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>47% of users<\/strong> believe that the main reason for using the site is <strong>to see photos and videos of their friends<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>46%<\/strong> consider using this platform because it allows them to <strong>share with a lot of people simoltaneously.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Okay, so <strong>we know that we gotta work hard to be\u00a0our fans&#8217; best friend.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Look how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/julep?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this brand<\/a>\u00a0shows interest and <strong>talks just like another &#8220;friend&#8221; of its fans:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/JULEP1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/JULEP1.png\" alt=\"JULEP1\" width=\"418\" height=\"472\" \/><\/a><\/center><a href=\"http:\/\/readwrite.com\/2012\/01\/16\/study_why_do_people_use_facebook#awesm=~oBwnvtlUCqytEP \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Another study<\/a>, this time conducted by <strong>Boston University<\/strong>, highlights two other aspects worth considering. They\u00a0<strong>help us understand the best ways to reach the hearts of our fans<\/strong>, the hearts of their friends, and the friends of their friends. \u00a0Ultimately, getting more likes for our pages and our posts:<\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; The <strong>need to belong<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 &#8211; The<strong> need for \u201cself-presentation<\/strong>&#8220;. That is, saying who we are, what we do, and what we think and feel.<\/p>\n<p>So: if the need is to belong to something, <strong>don&#8217;t hesitate to build a community<\/strong>. <strong>This means companionship, helping, sharing, celebrating.<\/strong> This is exactly what you should do with your fan page. Remember that <strong>people look for ways to create an image that represents them too. So, you should use content that your fans can reutilize<\/strong> as a resource, content that represents them and that they can identify with and that allows them to show their image.<\/p>\n<p>Good. The first step is already done. Now you know how and why you need to use this social media channel: in order to <strong>become your fans&#8217; best friend and create a consistent community for your brand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>2- Know your fans<\/h2>\n<p>Your fans are the second key element and getting to know them is extremely important <strong>if you want to know how to speak their language, or what kind of posts get their attention, or that they find useful, and what&#8217;s more if they&#8217;ll want to like it and\/or share it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The more information you get from your fans, the faster and more accurate <strong>you&#8217;ll be able to make decisions<\/strong> related to your fan page and then design a strategy that gets more likes and broadens the base of your community.<\/p>\n<p>So &#8230; To get to know your fans, \u00a0you got\u00a0<strong>a long road and a short road:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/pastilla-roja-matrix.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/postcron.com\/es\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/pastilla-roja-matrix.jpg\" alt=\"pastilla-roja-matrix\" width=\"450\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>long road\u00a0<\/strong>will take more time and more effort, but <strong>it&#8217;ll also take you further<\/strong>. To create it, you need a deep analysis of <strong>quantitative and qualitative characteristics<\/strong> of your <strong>current customers and fans<\/strong>. People need time to get used to your brand and your friendship.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Save the money you&#8217;d spend on a \u201cpack of 5,000\u00a0ghost fans,&#8221; and use it to pay for ads on Facebook that promote your existing posts, or use it to subscribe to tools that allow you to design useful info graphics such as http:\/\/piktochart.com\/, or that allow you to edit and make your own professional images: http:\/\/pixlr.com\/<\/p>\n<h4>3.2 Write concise posts that contain a number.<\/h4>\n<p>Why?
